There is not really a best time to come, but I would avoid August as the trails are really busy – this coincides with the European mainland holiday period.
Many clients like late June for the Alpine flowers and September when the colours have changed and the mushrooms are out. Weather-wise it makes no difference, although September has generally seen long periods with stable high pressure systems in the past seven years. However, it’s the mountains and so anything can happen!
