Vegetarians are catered for. The hotels are pretty good at catering for other diets such as low fat or gluten-free. However, if you have a very specific diet or serious allergy you would need to bring supplements with you, as there are few snacks you can buy en route. Most of the food is wholesome and suited to trekkers’ needs. The dinners are generally fixed three-course meals served at a specific time. The hotels are small, family-run establishments and are normally catering to a full hotel and so are not able to offer a-la-carte dinners. We have not had any complaints about the food for many years and – because trekkers are generally a healthy sort of people – you can assume that the meals are pitched well.
