We advise against leaving any valuables in your main luggage. I understand you would like to bring a laptop along. However, the problem is that your main luggage will be left in the hotels reception area or store cupboard and no one will feel comfortable about that.
In addition, I don’t think that the hotel in Les Houches will store your computer as they will not want the responsibility whilst you are hiking.
My suggestion would be to carry it in your day pack so that it is with you at all times or bring a much smaller device.
Sorry I cannot be more positive about this, but I don’t want to put you in a position where the computer might get broken, lost, stolen etc.
